August 22, 2007:  Smith News from the Neus.  Moving back to New York State.   Higham News:  Grandma Mildred has declined since mid-June, but seems to be gradually improving.

July 8, 2007:  Good Weather!  Good Location!  Good Food!  Especially Good Company!!  Reunion 2007 was all of these and more.  Thanks to everyone who pitched in by bringing food (so delicious); helping to set up and clean up as we tore down; conducting games for the kids; and help with cooking (Thanks again to Ted and his mobile kitchen) and for the picture taking (Thanks Bob.  If others took digital photos, try to send them to me and we will get them on the Photo Gallery.  We did miss a group picture.  Everyone was having so much fun that time slipped by, people dispersed to play and we missed the opportunity.)

Florie served as Secretary for our business meeting, ably conducted by Mary T.  Florie's minutes:  Hi! Here they are!  It was a lot of fun, I'm so glad we are doing these family reunions!

Can we get a copy of the poem Jane Watkin read up on the web site?

[Same thought occurred to me.  We should also put it in the Queen Central News.  A lot of people would be interested in it.  Can you send it to me, Jane, either by mail or email.]

July 7, 2007 at 1315  Mary Taglieri led the meeting
-Next year's reunion will take place at Verona Beach State Park on Saturday 12 July 2008 by unanimous vote
-Poem, titled "My Town" was read and a history report by Jane Watkin
-Family updates given by the following people: Mary Taglieri; Miriam and Abby Parmelee (Ruthie Deanda and Cathy and Jeff Shepple, who recently died in an ATV accident); MaryLou Maynard's brother, George Costello, died; Rebecca Smith is doing an ALS walk and is looking for sponsors; Mary Glazer and Miriam Parmelee talked about doing fundraising walks for ALS and Cancer Society, (don't forget to check out runforruthie.com); Taglieri's are in the process of moving; Jan Abrams' sister, Barbara Pyle, is living in Bethany House, Rome, NY, and the family members in Florida seem to be doing well; Jack Higham reported John Mack had cancer and a kidney removed but is doing ok, Betty Sauerzopf had a pain pump implanted a year ago and is doing well but could not come to the reunion this year because mother, Mildred Higham, is in declining health; Keith Watkin turned 90 this year; Jan Higham's chorus won 1st place in the small chorus regional competition of Sweet Adelines.
-Mary Glazer wants to start a family cookbook (send recipes!).  Possibly sell the volume to make money for worthwhile family charities.
-Cost of pavillion we rented was $100, we collected $159, $59 will be saved for a later function

[We gave Ted $40 for cooking gas to cover this year and for his unreimbursed expense from the 2006 Reunion.  $100 covered the pavilion rental.  The remaining $19 will be kept in the pot for next year.  If more donations arrive we will keep them in the pot.]

I think that's about it, I hope I didn't leave anything out.
Sincerely, Florie Parmelee

July 6, 2007:  Tomorrow's the day!!  A few more people have checked in and are coming, and a couple of regrets have been received.  Check all of this out at the Reunion Info link.  We will have the projector and computer along, so bring your digital cameras and cables, if needed, and we will have a slide show at the end of the party showing everyone who attending.

July 3, 2007:  Ideas for games are coming in.  What do we do if there is rain on Saturday?  The pavilion is enclosed, so unless the park is closed due to severe weather we should be able to function.  We can cook indoors or out.  Games might be a problem, so plan for something inside, just in case.  See Reunion Info for more on games.  Still a few members haven't checked in regarding attendance and menu items.

July 2, 2007:  5 days and counting...  Again, check the reunion Info link for the latest on attendance, menu and regrets.  Also check the Clan pages for the latest updates

June 28, 2007:  9 Days and counting...  Check the Reunion Info link at the left for the latest on attendees, menu items being brought, and regrets.  Have we heard from you?
